My Proposal

Since I was in second grade I have always been a member of the 4H organization. 4H is a voluntary educational program offered to all boys and girls regardless of where they are from, what color their skin is, or where they live today. My group was called, “Fighting Irish” which was for the people located around the small town of Ireland. I took drawing, leather crafting, and ceramics for my projects throughout my nine years of service. So for my public sphere day project I thought I would join collegiate 4H because of having been in 4H for nine years why not just continue being in the organization.
For the project I am going to talk and try convincing people why they should become a part of Collegiate 4H; explain to them how it is the largest out of school youth program in the United States, with having over seven million members and five hundred thousand teen and adult volunteers. Why would anyone not consider joining a well organized organization that has accepted constitution of its’ own which was accepted on February 21, 2002 is beyond me. A study done by Cathann A. Kress has shown that participation in the 4-H club has had a positive impact on children who stay involved for more than a year. On the public sphere day I am joining two of my friends at a table that will be set up on the sidewalk somewhere around the quad or outside the UC which is going to have brochures, pamphlets and promos that we will be handing out to a number of people to inform them why is would be inspirational to come and join us in 4H. The brochures and pamphlets will have all the information that one would need to know about what we do as a member of 4H also containing how to join the group on campus, and how to start volunteering around the city. They will go into more detail explaining what exactly the organization does for the community and for the member. Then they will explain what the four H’s stand for, hands, heart, health, and head.

POLITICAL COMPASS

According to this political compass i am in the authoritarian left. I am more towards communism and facism according to the answers i put on the questionaire. On the international chart i am very close to Pope Benedict XVI and Mamoud Abbas which i do not think is horrible. When i was doing this i had no idea that i would come up on the left side because the first time i took this i was on the right side but i changed some agrees to strongly agrees and stuff like that.

Summary of my Proposal

My proposal started talking about my background in 4-H which started when i was only in the second grade. Telling others how to join the club and what exactly the organization does for the community and the members self-esteem and confidence. With all that in mind i started talking about how my public sphere day project was going to go. I got pamphlets and brochures explaining how you can join the club, explaining how the club helps the community, and what the clubs do on campus and off-campus. We also go some promos to hand out to the people that will stop by our table. For my public sphere day i joined collegiate 4-H.
